Health Benefits of Butterfly Pea Flower Tea

Anti-oxidant

Studies have shown that this herbal tea has great anti-oxidant properties. This is fairly common within most teas though, so we're going to need something else. How about hair strengthening and helping reduce eye infections?

Strengthen's Hair

Butterfly Pea Flower applied on Baby's Eyebrows

Pea Flower has for many centuries within Thailand been used to grow and strengthen hair. A favored characteristic, with strong full eyebrows being a symbol of beauty. As seen in this image, the baby has also had Blue Pea Flower applied to her eyebrows to encourage the development of hair growth in this area. High in Bioflavonoid, this compound is a component in many hair products today.

Prevention of Eye Infection

Another common use of this tea is the treatment and prevention of eye infection.
A particular anti-oxidant within that goes by the name of proanthocyanidin, is particularly good at increasing the flow of blood capillaries within the eyes. This, in turn, can help to prevent cataracts and improve the sharpness of vision also.

Effects Mind and Memory

Although we can't find any studies on it, many claim this herb also has a positive effect on the mind and memory - particularly within India and Ayurvedic medicine.

How Does it Taste?

In terms of taste, this tea is quite mild and with an earthy and woody flavor. Not unpleasant at all, but perhaps of a weaker taste than many are used to within herbal teas. If using this tea we recommend taking it either for the health benefits listed above or for its exciting colour factor. To see it in action, view the video below!
