Bael (Aegle marmelos L), also known as Japanese Bitter Orange, Stone Apple, and Wood Apple -  is an extremely popular sweet drink in both India and Thailand that is great both hot or cold.

The Bael Fruit tree takes around 11 months to ripen, and when it does - actually getting to the fruit can pose quite a challenge as this is one hard fruit! Once opened, one is rewarded with a taste and fragrance that can be described as 'sweet, aromatic and pleasant, although tangy and slightly astringent'.
Please note that this tea does contain a very small amount of small 'string fibres' - which is a part of the fruit itself.

A fruit considered holy in India, and commonly planted around temples.

  1. Only 5 grams is enough to steep overnight in 1 liter of water (10g for double flavour).
  2. For best results, use boiling water first and then leave overnight in the fridge. With just a 40g bag, this will be enough for around 10 litres of iced tea. Easy!
  1. This tea steeps rather fast and will become strong quickly.
  2. Bring water to boil and steep a teaspoons worth for two minutes.

Fantastic product the best service & communication ive had in years and I cannot recommend this product and company to highly

Hi David, wow thank you. We always do our best.
      Okay, I’m convinced!

Reading through the reviews of the Cacao Chocolate Husk Tea I thought “well, maybe it’s vaguely chocolatey in taste, but these are the opinions of tea drinkers, not hard core chocolate drinkers such as me”. Still, curiosity saw me ordering the small 40g pack which arrived with other tea varieties I decided to sample. It’s been almost a fortnight since I received the Cacoa Tea and this morning I actually got around to opening the packet. I followed the suggestion about crushing the husks before steeping for 7 minutes and cautiously took a sip... Wow! Everything that other reviewers have posted is true! So here I am, back on the Tealife site, nursing my second cup of Cacao Tea and ordering the 160g packet...

Hi Liz, wow thank you I love this review :) We're reallllly hoping to get the price down this year further. It's always a bit of a pricey tea but we'll do our best.
