How to make Matcha Tea

RSS

Preparing Matcha tea isn't as straight forward as your usual tea.
Originating from Japan, there's a bit of a ritual to the preparation along with a few varieties in how to prepare it which we've provided in some links below!

Step 1 - Sift the Matcha!

Place one or two tablespoons into your cup with a sifter. It doesn't really matter what size you use, but be sure to use one with fine holes to make sure all of the Green Matcha tea is properly separated.

Once that's done, it's time to move on to the next step! Don't worry, there's only three steps so after a few tries you'll be a Matcha tea pro in no time.

Step 2 - Add the water to the Matcha!

Pouring water onto the green matcha tea

Carefully place around 60 milliliters  to your prewarmed cup. Pre-warming is an important part of the tea making ritual, along with it being a common practice in higher end coffee shops.

For best results, try to use water that's just under boil.

Step 3 - Mix the Matcha!

If you've sifted properly in step one, you shouldn't have to worry about any clumps and the consistency should be free of any imperfections.

Step 4 - Drink the Matcha!

The quality and potency of this green tea is outstanding!
Have been in search for really good green tea for many years now. We drink it nearly everyday. Have tried Japanese, Chinese, etc.
The search is over. Will only get this one from here on.
Almost finished the big bag just bought. Reordering now!
Thank you TeaLife! :)

Hi Elise, Thanks so much! This one is grown on a small farm in Australia as a family business - with the hand roasted version of our green tea coming from the same place too. We've had similar feedback for this tea, so we'll definitely be keeping it around for as long as they can supply us. We will hopefully be able to offer larger bags in the future once we get our act together and increase our storage space! - Toby

Hi Kate, Thank you! We have a large fragrance company in America using our Melissa Tea too, so the quality is definitely there! Thanks for your review. - Toby
Great service

Great personalised service and an all Australian product, how could you go wrong?! Love the packaging of the teas too.

Thank you Jenny! Still unsure if the packaging is too cute, but it's a good reflection of the personality of Tea Life. :)
High quality and delicious!

Firstly, I have to say the customer service is really good. The parcel took a little longer to come than I expected, so I emailed to check and I received a response straight away and an offer to re-send for free. Thankfully it did arrive and it is packed in a way that makes for easy storing. Also it tastes FANTASTIC! I used it in a special food recipe for an anniversary gift. My husband says it tastes great on its own too. I'll definitely be purchasing again.

Hi L, Thanks for getting back to me on this one! Something i'll normally do when asked where a delivery is, is ask to wait about 1 more day because 99% of the time it will turn up the day after an enquiry! Sorry for the transit time this time around, it's not really a common occurrence. I'm glad you like the tea! - Toby
