Orders

If you have any changes you'd like to make to an order, or wish to add something else after you've made payment just let us know and we'll be able to fix that up for you. This will be much easier if you let us know before we've shipped!

If you have placed two separate orders and paid shipping both times, don't worry. Please let us know via email hello@tealife.com.au and we will then refund you the shipping costs for one of those orders - and shipping costs for both of your orders if the sum is over $60.

If we've made a mistake (it's rare but it can happen!) just let us know at hello@tealife.com.au and we'll ship you anything that was missing. Any extra tea you've received is also yours to keep.

Shipping

Shipping times do vary, but on average with the $5.95 Sendle option we see anywhere from 1-2 days if within Sydney and  1-3 days to VIC, SA and sometimes QLD. To WA, TAS and NT longer shipping times are to be expected.

With Australia Post, we see similar shipping times for the most part but more 'stable' and with less surprises. Dispatch times with us (how long it takes for us to send your tea) are good, with most orders shipping same day or the next at the latest.

To follow up on any shipment, you can contact:

Sendle - support@sendle.com
Australia Post - ph: 137678
Tea Life - hello@tealife.com.au

On checkout within Australia we have options for both Sendle and Australia Post.

We now offer express post with Australia Post. The cost is not flate rate and is the exact cost from our end, passed to the customer.

Refunds can't be provided based on shipping times as our dispatch time is very fast, with transit times being out of our control. If you have a function or event and your order is urgent, please let us know!

Product

We always aim for make sure our customers love our products, but if you do need to return an order, we’re happy to help. Just email us directly and we’ll take you through the process.

If there is a problem with the product such as packaging damage or along these lines we will normally cover return shipping costs.

We're moving towards being 100% eco friendly, but in the meantime here's a breakdown of what we've done so far.

- Shipping Bags are currently classified as number '2' recyclable HDPE which carries virtually no risk of leaching elsewhere and is easily recyclable into many other goods such as Laundry detergent bottles, oil bottles, pens, recycling containers, floor tile, drainage pipe, lumber, benches, doghouses, picnic tables, fencing, shampoo bottles.

- Tea Packaging is composed of HDPE as above, along with an aluminium insert for preservation, and a food grade lining on that. Aluminium is infinitely recyclable, with 75% of all aluminium ever produced still being used today and is 100% recyclable.

We've recently upgraded to ziplock resealable bags. Some stock we may not have moved over yet, but the majority is now ziplock. Food grade inner protection ensures no sun, air or water damage to the tea will occur.

Our products are sourced from mostly organic suppliers. However, certification is expensive within Australia along with not really having the time and resource both in staffing and budget to certify 300+ products.

For now we just label either organic, wildcrafted or pesticide free.

Organic: Able to be certified organic and stated as such by the supplier. Wildcrafted: Basically just picked/harvested from the forest with no specific land being put aside for growing. Naturally, no pesticides are used in this process either.

Pesticide free: May be grown in organic conditions or only natural insect deterrent used.

A good example of this is our first harvest green tea grown in Australia, with the farm stating: "Australian green tea growers have always strived to apply minimal pesticides as we have no insect pests and very few plant diseases. The final topical pesticide application was in May 2017.As standard practice, Australian growers no longer apply these products. Our farm and its contracted growers have an ongoing policy of zero pesticide application. To verify the operation of this policy, our farm has a rigorous traceability program. Growers are required to submit, in writing, a detailed monthly farm report and during the harvest period, a random sample of each growers crude tea is taken from each variety, and harvest to screen for pesticide residues by the QA Department. "So while unable to be certified organic, they are grown in organic conditions. Such examples we just state pesticide free for now. All teas not organic (such as blooming flower teas) are also stated within the product description as being pesticide free.

Safety and privacy

We constantly have eyes on our tea to ensure that it remains up to our usual standards. Gloves/Scoops are used at all times, along with regular spot checks.

In regards to the recent covid events, we have our log book, anti bacterial hand gel, and regularly maintain space between staff. We're a pretty small team too, so that also helps to achieve this fairly easily! Naturally, if anyone feels even slightly unwell they'll be resting until 100% clear.

Also for the most part since we do all packaging in-house with a packing machine, we will rarely touch any tea ourselves.

We take all things privacy very seriously and take great care to make sure all of your information is secure.

Upon ordering, Tea Life staff are able to only see the last 4 digits of your card number - and no card information is saved. It is for this reason that you must reenter your card upon every order.

We can also remove all data that you have shared with us at a push of a button - with all requests to do so actioned within 24 hours.
