green tea cocktail tea life

Uh-oh! It's time for the summer party season and it's your turn to host! All the classic cocktails have been done and TikTok is showing endless loops of dry ice, spherical ice cubes and no tiny umbrellas! Don't panic! We have a great recipe which features delicious green tea - what could be better?

Preparation Time:

35-40 Minutes

Serving Size:

4-6 Cocktails

Ingredients:

4 Green Tea Bags or enough loose-leaf tea for 4 to 5 cups of tea

The juice and zest of one lemon

2 Large cucumbers

3/4 Cup of Honey

1 Generous Cup of Gin

2 Kiwis

1/4 Tsp Salt

Optional:

  1. Matcha Cookies
  2. White Chocolate

Method:

Boil your water in a saucepan on the stove and prepare your green tea as per usual! Don't let it boil too long or you risk causing a slightly bitter aftertaste!

In a blender add your cooled green tea, lemon juice, lemon zest and honey.

Peel and slice your cucumbers but not too small and add these to the blender as well.

Next, grab your Kiwi and scoop the insides into the blender too. You can eat the skin but let's be honest we don't fancy a hairy cocktail!

Blend until smooth and chunk free!

Pour from the blender into a pitcher while straining the cocktail through a sieve to remove any missed chunks!

Once in the pitcher, add your Gin! Honestly, with this cocktail, a plain, cheap gin is all you need! The other ingredients make any gin taste expensive!

Serve with chunky ice cubes in short glasses with a cucumber slice to garnish!

If you're feeling particularly adventurous, melt white chocolate and pour it into a saucer. Then dip the rims of your cocktail glasses into the white chocolate. Next, grab your matcha cookies that have been thoroughly crushed and coat the white chocolate rim in cookie crumbs! If you have a sweet tooth, this is the icing on the cake!
