Taste Profile

Aroma: Fresh, resinous & slightly woody with notes of pine and spring herbs.

Taste: A little bittersweet with earthy, vegetal undertones and a clean, refreshing edge.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied but slightly astringent; coat the palate lightly.

Finish: A bitter herbal aftertaste with a light sweetness.

Liquor colour: Pale golden-yellow.

Lovely with: It is best eaten alone to appreciate its resinous character, or with light, lightly salted snacks. Can go with mild stir-fried vegetables or steamed rice dishes.

Common Questions

But What is Dragon Claw Tea?
The tightly rolled spring buds of the poplar tree (Populus tomentosa), sometimes called "dragon claws" because they resemble claws, are used in this herbal infusion.

Is it caffeinated?
Nope - it's a herbal infusion and caffeine-free.

Are there added flavours or sugars?
But no, it contains only pure poplar buds - no flavors, colors, or sweeteners added.

Does it get reheated?
YES - reheat gently if pre-brewed; avoid boiling. It is also good when chilled. Unless refrigerated, consume within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Place the dried fruit in a sealed, airtight container in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Best consumed within 18-24 months for maximum aroma and flavour.

Dragon Claw Tea 100g - Medium
I must say that I love this Dragon Claw Tea from Tea Life, it is a mild but wonderful tasting tea and you can add it to any other tea with similar steeping time, I add it to Hibiscus Tea, Ginger Root, Yerba Mate etc with wonderful results, highly recommended and of course you can just enjoy it on it's own! Thanks Tea Life!

Dragon Claw Tea 100g - Medium
I tried a sample pack of the Dragon Claw tea, mainly because I loved how it looked and loved the name. This tea is an amazing green tea sensation, not bitter, not too sweet, jussssst right ! This is one green tea I can drink on it's own, normally I have to mix a little black tea as to not upset my stomach. I have since purchased a couple of bags. xx

Dragon Claw Tea 50g - Small
This tea is like waking through a spring meadow. It has a delicate taste and aroma which reminds me of a very mild balm of Gilead. Dragons Claw tea has an innate natural sweetness as well as looking great. It is now one of my all-time favourite brews. I regret buying only 50g! This is a tea which everyone should experience!
