Brewing

To make each cup taste like Africa, here's a quick and easy guide:

Water Temperature: Allow fresh, clean filtered water to boil gently at boiling point (approx 200 F or 90-100c degrees Celsius).

Steeping Time: The tea should steep for 5-7 minutes to ensure that all the flavour components are captured.

Serving: This aromatic mixture is best served hot or can be poured over ice and served as an iced tea.

Herbal Rooibos tea can also be made like black tea. Add lemon or a bit of milk with or without sugar and honey.

Rooibos – Aspalathus linearis
Honeybush – most commonly Cyclopia intermedia or Cyclopia subternata (both are used in tea)
Ginger – Zingiber officinale
Pepper – Piper nigrum (black pepper; sometimes Piper spp. more broadly if unspecified)
Blue Lotus – Nymphaea caerulea

It is well known that ginger is a powerful anti-inflammatory and can help digestion along with refreshing the body. Black pepper helps in the use of nutrients while blue lotus is well known for its relaxant properties as well as adding some colour to this infusion.

Cautionary Notes

Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the inclusion of blue lotus and pepper, which may not be suitable in these stages.

Blue lotus may have mild sedative or psychoactive effects in some individuals; avoid driving or operating heavy machinery immediately after consumption.

Ginger and black pepper may interact with medications related to blood pressure, blood thinning, or diabetes — consult your healthcare provider if you are taking prescription medications.

Individuals with hormone-sensitive conditions should consult a professional before using blue lotus.

No, it has no caffeine because it contains rooibos, honeybush, and botanicals without caffeine.

Are there added flavours or sugars?
No, it contains only pure botanicals: Honeybush, rooibos, and blue lotus.

Does it get reheated?
Yes, reheat gently if the pre-brewed. avoid boiling. It is also good when chilled. Refrigerate immediately and consume within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Seal tightly in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place. Best consumed within 18-24 months for maximum aroma and flavour.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are there any discounts available?

We're quite generous with our loyalty programs, and the best way to take advantage of them is to create an account here. Also if you subscribe to our newsletter you'll gain access to members only discounts, rewards and an initial 10% off first order.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
