African Wormwood Tea
The genus of Artemisia (afra) is indeed an interesting one, with over 500 species, some major pharmaceutical advances have been made from the compounds found within this herb.
For some time, the African government banned African Wormwood for sale and was subsequently sued by a herbal company claiming that it did in fact help aid against Malaria, at which time there was little to no supporting evidence for this. Studies have since shown African Wormwood to be surprisingly powerful against Schistosoma mansoni and Plasmodium falciparum, both of which can be causes of Malaria.
While studies are still lacking in this particular genus of Artemisia Afra, traditional uses include treatment of fever, flu, coughs and colds.
