Devils Claw Tea

Tea Description
Click here to read customer feedback for this tea!

Devils Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) also known as grapple plant and wood spider, is native to the South African region and named so due to the unusual claw like appearance of the hooked fruit it produces.

The root of this herb has been used to treat lower back pain for centuries and although little scientific study has been done, it has been found to be more effective than placebo - which is a good start! In fact this herb is mostly known as a 'pain treatment' herb.

Any condition such as arthritis, muscle pain and even gastrointestinal or gout issues which produce inflammation and thus some resulting pain may benefit from drinking this herb. The list is of common uses for this herb is a little too long to include here, so we encourage our readers to do their own research.

From certified organic Australian suppliers

Devils Claw

I was already familiar with Devils Claw Tea and its benefits of relieving pain in my neck and shoulder and since it hasn't been easy to find in the past in Perth, I was very happy to find that Tea Life stocks it. Very friendly and efficient service and will be purchasing again. Thank you!

Hi Sonja, thanks for your review! This one, like many of our recent additions have been by customer request. In fact I've put looking for new teas on hold myself and have only been adding things by request for awhile now - and that seems to work out quite well for us.

Devils Claw natural pain relief

This tea is a bit hard to swallow (I made it too strong initially), but it works a treat. I took this in capsule form on advice from a very wise occupational therapist many years ago prior to major joint surgery. . I buy from Tealife because of ALL of the below not just the tea descriptions, great service Australian and organic etc.

Hi Pam, thank you for your review! This is a fairly new but often requested addition to Tea Life so I'm happy you're finding this one useful.

Proven pain relieving herb

Devil's Claw is known for it's powerful pain relieving qualities. The tea certainly doesn't taste delicious, in fact it is quite bitter. Possibly it is best to drink it in combination with other teas, though as yet I haven't experimented with tea combinations. However, if it relieves painful symptoms then the taste doesn't really matter.

Did reduce my inflammation

It's still not perfect but it has surprisingly helped to reduce the inflammation in my back as good as antiinflam meds did so i'm quite happy with this tea and will continue to purchase.

    Great tea and great service

The Teas are great taste and awesome quaility love drinking the night wish

Hi Leanne, thank you - this one was created as it's different to the rest of the other bedtime teas such as goodnight sleeping.
    Another lovely mellow tea bloom

The yellow chrysanthemum bloom is very beautiful sitting on it's bed of green as this bloom opens into a slightly aniseed smelling tea at first, but when fully brewed tastes like a mellow silver needle tea that has a very subtle, fruity, sweet overtone. It's not overpowering or dominating in anyway and is very refreshing.

Hi Casey, thank you for your review! I really hope those samples have arrived....
    Happy with my tea

Unable to purchase Decaf leaf tea from the supermarket It was refreshing to find that i could purchase this seemingly elusive product online at "Tea Life".
The service was excellent and the tea arrived promptly. I'm very happy with my tea purchase and would recommend this company. Many thanks Tea Life.

Hi Liz, thank you. We'd love to expand our decaf range actually but it's difficult to get a hold of. Hopefully this year will bring some new decaf teas!
    Fab Tea!!!

I orderered the hibiscus tea in order to have some choice whilst cutting out black tea
The hibiscus tea is delicious and fruity
It has also reduced my blood pressure
The staff are very helpful and fixed any issues right away
