Devils Claw Tea

Tea Description
Click here to read customer feedback for this tea!

Devils Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) also known as grapple plant and wood spider, is native to the South African region and named so due to the unusual claw like appearance of the hooked fruit it produces.

The root of this herb has been used to treat lower back pain for centuries and although little scientific study has been done, it has been found to be more effective than placebo - which is a good start! In fact this herb is mostly known as a 'pain treatment' herb.

Any condition such as arthritis, muscle pain and even gastrointestinal or gout issues which produce inflammation and thus some resulting pain may benefit from drinking this herb. The list is of common uses for this herb is a little too long to include here, so we encourage our readers to do their own research.

From certified organic Australian suppliers

Proven pain relieving herb

Devil's Claw is known for it's powerful pain relieving qualities. The tea certainly doesn't taste delicious, in fact it is quite bitter. Possibly it is best to drink it in combination with other teas, though as yet I haven't experimented with tea combinations. However, if it relieves painful symptoms then the taste doesn't really matter.

Did reduce my inflammation

It's still not perfect but it has surprisingly helped to reduce the inflammation in my back as good as antiinflam meds did so i'm quite happy with this tea and will continue to purchase.

Why buy online with Tea Life? What sets it apart?
We're not just another tea brand.
We focus on Australian produce and organic tea wherever possible.

  • Quality: Australian standards impose strict quality control on packing and Hygeine.
  • Freshness: We only pack our tea upon your order. Until that time, it's kept within the bulk of the loose leaf tea. This dramatically increases freshness and taste.
  • Health: The full remedial powers, taste and aroma of our tea are unlocked due to our organic and fresh produce.

We understand that shipping fees are a little annoying, especially on low cost items such as tea. That's why we offer free shipping on all orders over $60 and $2 for shipping for up to 80g. Stock up on your favourite tea blends at Tea Life and get free shipping throughout the whole of Australia!

  • We're located in Sydney, so please allow some time for delivery based on your location. $2 shipping takes 5-7 days on average but can be much faster. $5.95 shipping is via registered post and takes on average 3 days.

  • We also offer Express Yellow Bag Australia Post at $8.95. If your order is classified as such - we will prioritize your order to ensure it ships same day. Please understand that even though this is classified as 'next day delivery' by Australia Post, sometimes it can fall slightly short of this especially if within WA, NT and more rural locations!

  • For Express, our cut off shipping time is 1.30 pm daily Mon to Fri. We of course need time to pick and pack too! So in general - the earlier an order is placed, the easier it will be for us to make that cut off time.
  • Express delivery orders are always given priority. In the event we don't have stock of that tea when express post is used, you will be refunded $2 to take the order back down to 3 day shipping - but an express shipping bag will still be used once back in stock.

Blue sleepy time yea

Very happy with this tea. Works a treat, mild flavour and blue colour is very enticing. Thank you Tea Life for another magical tea.

Hi Patti, thanks for your great review! This has always been one of our most loved blends, so we were a little nervous to add the blue and change it a bit but it seems to have gone down well.
Love it!

This is a really comforting, mild flavoured tea. I loved the service and the personal touches on the packaging. Will definitely be buying more Aussie organic teas!
