Osmanthus Tea is a bit of a rare and special new addition to Tea Life that we have here on a trial basis. A unique and sweet scent that is both relaxing and comforting. Much like Jasmine, the Osmanthus flower is often used for scenting other teas. This should give you an indication of how fragrant it is!

Mainly grown in Japan and China and only harvested in late summer, Osmanthus also goes by the name of 'Sweet Olive' or 'Sweet Osmanthus'.

Benefits of Osmanthus include boosting the immune system and protecting against glactose induced aging. Studies have also shown an anti-inflammatory effect with this tea if taken once a day. The oils contained have also been shown to reduce anxiety and have a slight sedative effect.

Brewing
  1. Add around 1 teaspoon to strainer in hot water.
  2. Steep for 3-5 minutes with the cup covered.

Aroma: It is sweetly floral and fruity with an apricot and peach scent that is upbeat and cheerful.

Taste: It is delicate and smooth with soft stone-fruit sweetness, light floral notes and honey.

Mouthfeel: Soothing and refreshing, with a round body.

Finish: Long-lasting and fragrant with a floral-fruity echo on the palate.

Liquor colour: Pale golden-yellow.

Lovely with: You can use green tea or oolong and/or honey to intensify fruity-floral notes.

Osmanthus Tea - What is it?
Osmanthus Tea contains no caffeine and is prepared from the flowers of Osmanthus fragrans. In East Asia it is prized for the floral-fruity aroma and natural sweetness.

Is it caffeinated?
No, pure osmanthus tea contains no caffeine. It will contain caffeine if blended with green or oolong teas.

Are there added flavours or sugars?
No, it contains only dried osmanthus flowers unless otherwise specified in a blend.

Does it get reheated?
YES - reheat gently if pre-brewed; avoid boiling. You may also enjoy it chilled. Refrigerate immediately and consume within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Cool, dry, airtight container - keep away from direct light. Peak freshness & aroma should be consumed within 18-24 months.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are there any discounts available?

We're quite generous with our loyalty programs, and the best way to take advantage of them is to create an account here. Also if you subscribe to our newsletter you'll gain access to members only discounts, rewards and an initial 10% off first order.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
