Orange Summer Fruit Tea

A sunny, citrus tisane with summer fruits. Orange, grapefruit and lemon add zest and apple, papaya and carrot add natural sweetness without sugar.

Roselle/hibiscus gives a ruby tang; chrysanthemum gives a crisp floral finish. Each cup produces a golden, sunset-colored liquor with rosy blush and citrus notes.

Totally caffeine-free and great for all day sipping - hot, iced or cold-and great as a spritzer base.

Brewing

Hot brew: 1-2 tsp (3-5 g) in 250 ml. Use fresh boiled water (95-100degC). Soak for 5-7 minutes then strain.
Iced brew: 8-10 g/500 ml hot water 8-10 minutes steep, strain over ice.
Cold brew: 10-12 g per 1 L cold water, cover and refrigerate for 6-8 hours, strain. Adapt strength to taste.

Cautionary Notes

CYP3A4 may interact with grapefruit via pharmacokinetics (eg: some statins, calcium-channel blockers, some immunosuppressants and psych meds). Preventive medicine use: check with a healthcare professional if you take prescription medication.

Roselle/hibiscus: This herb mildly lowers blood pressure and changes blood sugar - monitor if you take antihypertensive or diabetes medicines.

Reflux / sensitive stomach - citrus / roselle acidity can worsen heartburn - brew milder if symptomatic; avoid.

Symptoms - chrysanthemum is in Asteraceae (daisy) family; avoid if you react to ragweed/daisy-family plants. Citrus, papaya (latex cross-reactivity) and carrot also induce oral-allergy symptoms in sensitive individuals. If any reaction occurs, stop using.

Pregnancy/breastfeeding - mostly food-like, but hibiscus is cautioned; seek personalised advice before regular use.

YES - reheat gently if pre-brewed - avoid boiling. Or, enjoy cold - refrigerate promptly and eat within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Lie flat, cool, dry, and away from light. Ideally, it should be consumed within 18-24 months for the best aroma and color.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

We're quite generous with our loyalty programs, and the best way to take advantage of them is to create an account here. Also if you subscribe to our newsletter you'll gain access to members only discounts, rewards and an initial 10% off first order.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
