White Tea (Camellia sinensis) comes from the same leaves as green tea, but are harvested at a younger age. This Silver Moon Tea is a modern take on the famous White Tea - containing both silver needle and white tea.

Two leaf variations from the one plant come together to create a new yet familiar crisp, clean and delicate taste.

Brewing
  1. Either a) Bring the water to boil then let it cool for about 5 minutes or b) bring your water to simmering near boil.
  2. About 2 teaspoons of leaves should be used per cup.
  3. White tea can withstand longer steep times than usual. If it's your first time, try 3 minutes first and then experiment with up to 10 minutes. Milk and sugar/honey isn't recommended for white tea.

Caffeine Content
Although relatively low in caffeine, Silver Needle & white tea contain caffeine and may increase sensitivity in those who avoid it altogether.

Sensitive to stimulants Not recommended late in the day.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
It is a moderate drink during pregnancy or breastfeeding because of the caffeine and lack of large safety studies. Always consult a doctor.

Iron Absorption
The tannins in this tea may inhibit iron absorption as with all teas from Camelia sinensis. Drinking with iron-rich meals/supplements is best.

Medication Interactions
Blood thinners or blood pressure medications may interact with white tea. Precautions if using prescription medications.

What is Silver Moon White Tea?
Silver Moon White Tea is made with the very youngest buds and leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. It is prized for its mild, naturally sweet taste and soothing aroma, often called the most delicate of all teas.

Is it caffeinated?
Yes, but lightly. We find that white tea has low to moderate caffeine and gives you an energy boost without jitters.

Does it contain added flavours or sugar?
No pure silver moon white tea contains only natural tea leaves. No added flavours, sugar or preservatives.

Can it be reheated?
If pre-brewed, reheat gently - avoid boiling - to prevent dulling the delicate floral notes of the tea. Leftover tea - Refrigerate and drink within 24 hours.

How should it be stored, and how long should it keep?
Place the jar in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from light and strong smells. More delicate white teas may last up to 24 months if stored properly.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are there any discounts available?

We're quite generous with our loyalty programs, and the best way to take advantage of them is to create an account here. Also if you subscribe to our newsletter you'll gain access to members only discounts, rewards and an initial 10% off first order.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
