For me, there is something special about the graceful, quietly sweet flavor of Blackberry Leaf Tea, a traditional herbal tea made using the leaves of the Rubus fruticosus plant.

Brewing

Water temperature: Pour water in a kettle and heat it around 90°C (194°F) because if it’s too hot then flavour will get over powered and the natural compounds will not be infused.

Time of steeping: Using the teapot or infuser, add 1-2 teaspoons of blackberry leaves into boiling water and steep the tea for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong the tea tastes to you.

Add-ons: Does this tea taste sweet? The smooth touching notes of honey or a lemon slice with blackberry leaf tea compliments the taste along with fresh mint leaves.

For iced tea: Make the tea in the usual way and allow to cool completely. Thus the drink may be served over ice or for garnishing, add fresh fruits or mint and it would be more delicious.

I bought this blackberry leaf tea specifically from Tea Life because it stated it was "organic". Admittedly, the wording on the website did not state "certified organic" so legally they can throw around labels like this. When I received the packet, it states "blackberry leaf tea - pesticide free" (very different farming practices to "organic"). Literally the only description on the packet. it doesn't state where it grown and there is definitely no organic certification or even an "in conversion". Nor does it have "best before" date/suggestion. If someone doesn't care about this sort of thing, I am sure this tea will be fantastic for them. Unfortunately for me, proper labelling and full transparency in a company (ESPECIALLY when it comes to food/drink) is supremely important to me so I will not be buying from this company again.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
