Pine Needle Tea (Pinus koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc) is a bit of a rarity in Australia, mostly being used as Chinese medicine - but has its own unique uses that make it a worthy addition to the Tea Life family. This is classified as White Pine.

According to studies, Pinus koraiensis Sieb is a good antiviral.

These particular Pine Needle Trees have been growing for over 50 years and then wildcrafted in the mountainous regions in North East China away from industrial zones.

Brewing
  1. Pine Needle is best to crush/grind or blend to release everything properly due to its slightly hardy protective coating.
  2. For optimal results, place 2-3g in blender with hot water, blend until ground and let steep for 10 mins. Steeping/filtering afterwards is recommended.
  3. Steeping overnight is also a good option for Pine Needle to ensure everything is released.

Aroma: It is fresh and resinous with notes of pine forest, citrus zest and herbal sharpness.

Taste: Citrus-like, bright, slightly tangy, often compared to lemon or grapefruit, with a light herbal sweetness.

Mouthfeel: Clean & light, with a cool sensation on the palate.

Finish: It is refreshing and lingers with a piney sharpness that fades to a sweet sweetness.

Liquor colour: From pale gold to light amber.

Lovely with: Lemon zest or honey - or mixed with green tea.

Nope - it's a herbal infusion and caffeine-free.

Are there added flavours or sugars?
Pure tea made from pure pine needles has no pine needles! For blends always check the ingredient list.

Does it get reheated?
Yes, reheat gently if the pre-brewed. avoid boiling. Or enjoy cold. Refrigerate immediately and consume within 24 hours.

How do I store it, and how long does it keep?
Store in a cool, dry place away from light in an airtight container. Best consumed within 18-24 months for maximum aroma & freshness.

How much is shipping?

Couriers Please Shipping is $5.95 for orders under $60 and free for all orders over $60.

Australia Post is always at cost. Orders going to Po Box or Parcel Locker address may be locked in to Australia Post.

What are your transit times?

We dispatch within 24-48 hours (sometimes much faster) and from there we'll see 1-3 days transit to most metro locations within Australia excluding WA and NT which can take a week or so.

We also offer express post which will help speed up the process, at cost with no handling fees. These are always sent as priority and packed first.

Are there any discounts available?

Are your teas certified organic?

Up until recently we were certified organic but due to rising administration costs and the difficulty of maintaining certification we've put this on hold for now. Our suppliers and farms remain the same without any change but just now label things are organic, pesticide free or wildcrafted.

This also allows us to maintain our current pricing without any increases which we feel is more important at this time.
