9. How to Make Green Tea

Start by deciding on the quantity of Australian herbal tea. A good general rule is to go with 1 teaspoon of green tea for 1 cup of water. If you’re opting for readymade tea bags, one bag is enough for a cup. 

Next, let the tea leaves brew for 3-5 minutes. Putting the leaves in boiling water is not advised. Instead, put the green tea on the strainer and pour water from above. Fill the cup until the bottom part of the strainer is submerged. Letting the leaves brew for more than 5 minutes might ruin the flavour. 

If you’re using leaves, going for the right strainer is crucial. Regular strainers are designed to filter larger particles while green tea is very fine in texture. You must go for a fine mesh strainer with little holes. 

Finish the process by adding a few drops of honey if you want.

Side Effects of Australian Green Tea

Green tea is generally deemed safe for most people. Too much consumption can lead to sleep problems, diarrhoea, heartburn, and jitters. If you are sensitive to caffeine, capping the consumption at 1 cup a day might help. 

Also, green tea reduces the absorption of iron and folic acid. So, it might be ideal to stay away from green tea if you’re pregnant or planning to be.
